For all N registry aircraft it is a value between A00000 for N1 up to ADF7C7 for N99999. I just learned that, at least in the US, the ICAO hex and N number are mathematically linked. I don’t know the math, but if that formula is publicly available, a feature could be added to dump1090. With the ICAO hex, you could determine the N number without a database.
